How to read a strobe tuner
Play a note and watch the bands. If they drift right, you're sharp — loosen. If they drift left, you're flat — tighten. The slower they move, the closer you are.
When the pattern stops moving completely, you are perfectly in tune. Higher overtone bands move faster, so they reveal the tiniest errors — use them for the final, precise adjustment.
Why use a strobe tuner?
- Accuracy: strobe tuners resolve differences far smaller than a needle can show — down to a fraction of a cent.
- Great for low notes: bass, cello and low guitar strings, where ordinary tuners struggle.
- Intonation work: check every fret, adjust bridges, and set up instruments like a pro.
